  5. The main programs on this disk are:
  6.  
  7. AN.EXE      - the appointments calendar program,
  8. ALARM.COM   - the pop-up alarm clock,
  9. OUTSIDE.COM - an evelope addresser which takes addresses from
  10.               screen or file.
  11.  
  12. To get started using AN and ALARM first make a backup copy of this
  13. disk, then print the AN manual.  The manual has about 22 pages and
  14. can be printed in its entirety by entering
  15.   PRINTMAN AN.DOC
  16. To skip the first 4 pages and print the rest of the manual, type
  17.   PRINTMAN AN.DOC 4
  18. To view the manual on the screen use the \S option; e.g.
  19.   PRINTMAN/S AN.DOC 2
  20.  
  21. The documentation for OUTSIDE is in the file OUTSIDE.DOC.  You can
  22. print or view this file in a similar way:
  23.   PRINTMAN OUTSIDE.DOC
  24.   PRINTMAN/S OUTSIDE.DOC

  26. If you are a registered user of a previous version of Ample Notice 
  27. you may obtain the new printed manual for $3 (foreign: $5) from 
  28. Granny's.  Changes from version 1.08 include:

  30.   Addition of K)opy command,
  31.   archiving of selective notes and appointments,
  32.   <Shift Enter> edits next line,
  33.   Time and date stamps changed to <Alt T,D or B>,
  34.   advance nags:  2/3/88-5 nags 5 days in advance,
  35.   %F in CONFIG.CAL suppresses opening screen
  36.   point to date, insert in edit line.

  40. If your computer shows the wrong time on the alarm clock but the 
  41. correct time when you type TIME at the DOS prompt then you should 
  42. try the utility TIMER (a public domain program by David 
  43. Macchiarolo and Jim Seley) included on the Ample Notice disk.  (In 
  44. particular, AT&T 6300 users are likely to experience this 
  45. problem.)   If this fixes the problem we recommend that you 
  46. include TIMER in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file before ALARM.
